Our Mission:
Brian Brennan, Writer

Brian is a best-selling author and award-winning journalist who lives and works in Calgary. He is a specialist in books about the colourful personalities and social history of Western Canada.

His published titles include Boondoggles and Bonanzas, Alberta Originals and Building a Province. His latest title is How The West Was Written a biography of renowned Canadian historian James H. Gray. His previous title, Romancing the Rockies, was a finalist in the 2005 Banff Mountain Book Competition. His most popular title, Scoundrels and Scallywags, was short-listed for the 2003 Grant MacEwan Author's Award, one of the richest literary prizes in Canada. Brian is also the author of Máire Bhuí Ní Laoire, a biography nominated for the 2001 Irish Times Literary Prize.

He recently finished a corporate history of Arpi's Industries, a Calgary-based business.

A former staff writer for the Calgary Herald, Brian now writes regularly for such publications as The Globe and Mail, Alberta Venture, Galleries West, Alberta Oil, West magazine and Business Edge weekly. He is a professional member of The Writers' Union of Canada, PEN Canada, the Writers Guild of Alberta and the Calgary Musicians Association.
