Lana Okerlund, Writer
Lana brings a unique blend of literary and business experience to Echo Memoirs' writing team. She supplemented her business degree with a certificate in editing from SFU's writing and publishing program, and has worked as a freelance writer and editor ever since.
Among her many projects for Echo Memoirs, Lana has written the biography of Moray Keith of Dueck GM; a retrospective on the life of Richmond entrepreneur Jim McPhail; the multi-generation family business history of ABC Recycling, and a book about Wendy McDonald and BC Bearing. She is currently working on a corporate history for A&A Contract Customs Brokers.
Lana has also written a business history book for a large Canadian accounting and consulting firm, has worked for four years as a member of the editorial collective that publishes the literary magazine Room, and has worked as an editor on a number of book, magazine, and Web publications.
"Every day I spend writing or editing is pure bliss," Lana says. "Helping people connect through written ideas and stories is very gratifying, and my business consulting background has given me valuable tools I can use to structure and manage writing and editing projects."
