A Passion for People

Our Mission:
Each Echo Memoirs coffee-table book is hand bound in our Vancouver studio by our resident bookbinders trained in the fine art and craft of hand bookbinding.

One book takes between four and eight hours to bind, and involves a detailed process including: folding and scoring the pages, sewing the pages by hand, gluing the sewn book to the cover board and the pressing the book for two nights in our custom-made cast iron book presses.

The only mechanized component of this ancient craft is trimming the pages, which is done on our 900-pound electronic cutter.

Each book is quality checked by our Senior Binder and President before it leaves the studio to ensure our highest standards are met. Our books are fitted into custom-made plexiglass cases and elegantly wrapped to add a final element of surprise and delight for our clients when they view their special book for the first time.
